EATBETA is dedicated to alleviating rural unemployment, food insecurity, and water scarcity across Uganda. We empower local farmers by equipping them with practical skills through hands-on training and outreach programs. Each summer, we mobilize a diverse network of volunteers to lead hands-on workshops designed to introduce profitable, sustainable techniques for raising crops and livestock.
In recent years, EATBETA has significantly accelerated its impact by focusing on facilitating the construction of hand-dug water wells in rural areas. Recognizing that a severe shortage of clean water undermines both health and agricultural success, we have prioritized infrastructure that brings safe, reliable water directly to villagers. By strategically constructing these wells within the very communities where we conduct our agricultural training, we provide a holistic foundation for rural families to thrive.
Why Water Wells?
Clean water is fundamental to human health; without it, communities are highly vulnerable to devastating waterborne diseases. In its mission to transform rural lives, EATBETA is actively campaigning for and facilitating the construction of hand-dug water wells in Uganda’s most underserved communities. These hand-dug wells provide an incredibly cost-effective solution, costing just $2,500 to $3,000 per well, compared to machine-drilled wells that can easily run into tens of thousands of dollars.
